What can I use as Proof of Employment / Financial Means?
When ordering your bank account, you will need to provide proof of income that satisfies the following criteria:
- Your full name (complete given names + surname) must match the name on your passport exactly
- All four corners of the document are visible
- All texts are crisp and legible
- No shadows or light reflections
- Details should not be blacked (salary, account balances, etc)
- If your document is NOT written in either English, Portuguese, Spanish, French or Italian, kindly attach a certified English translation to your original document. This only applies to Millennium BCP customers.*
- For customers from the Schengen area: Documents can be certified by a lawyer, notary or any BCP branches outside of Portugal.
- For customers from other countries or residents outside the Schengen Area: Documents can only be certified by any of the authorized entities below:
- Local entities with the Apostille of Hague
- Consulates and Portuguese Embassies
- Millennium BCP Representative Offices Abroad
- Banque BCP França and Luxembourg Branches
Schengen Areas: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

- Letter from your business partner or client indicating that you are the owner of your company. The document must have the following information:
- Your company/organization’s name
- Role or services you provide
- Date of issue (must be within the past months)
- Must have your business partner/client's company stamp/seal with a signature
- Must be written on official company letterhead
- Must show salary details or percentage of share capital (if owner)
- Note: If you're applying for a Joint Account, and the other account holder is your business partner, kindly provide a letter from a client instead
