What if my document is not in a supported language?

If your documents (e.g. proof of address, proof of employment, etc.) are not in English, Portuguese, Spanish, or French, you will need to provide a certified translation of your documents. The certified translation must be in either English or Portuguese.

For residents of the Schengen area:

Documents can be certified by a lawyer or a notary.

For residents outside the Schengen Area: 

Documents can only be certified by any of the authorized entities below:

• Local entities with the Apostille of Hague
• Portuguese Embassies and Consulates

Countries in the Schengen Area: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
