Known password document extraction issues

This FAQ outlines known formatting variations and OCR limitations when extracting data from Portuguese temporary password documents (Senha Temporária) used to access the Portal das Finanças.

Important: This does not mean your password is invalid. In some cases, the extraction may not be completely accurate even though the password itself is correct.

Common character interpretation variations

The following character pairs may occasionally be interpreted differently, particularly in alphanumeric password fields:

• 8  ↔ B  
• I  ↔ 1  ↔ l  
• 0  ↔ O  
• S  ↔ 5  
• Z  ↔ 2  

These characters are visually similar and represent a known limitation of OCR-based extraction.
