What kind of Foreign Tax Identification Number document can I submit?

The type of proof of Foreign Tax Identification Number (TIN) that you can submit is based on your country of citizenship. For US citizens, this is your Social Security Number (SSN).

For US Citizens	SSN Card Latest US Tax Return (Form 1040) W-2 Form 1099 Form
For Non-US Citizens	Foreign Taxpayer Identification Number Card Government-issued document that shows your TIN Latest tax return from your country

Requirements

Your document must satisfy the following criteria:

Tax Number
- Your full Foreign TIN or SSN must be visible in the document.
Name
- Full name must match the name on your passport.
Image quality
- Text is legible
- No shadows
- No light reflections
- All four corners of the document are visible
Document language
- Your document must be in English, Portuguese, Spanish, or French.
