Why are there empty fields on my NIF document?

Because of the pandemic, many Portuguese tax offices shifted their operations online and started issuing NIFs electronically. 

You may notice that some fields of your NIF document are left blank (e.g. passport number, bank info, etc.). This is completely okay and you do not need to fill in any of these fields.
